Hi, I am Daniel Ofir
I come from a family deeply rooted in the art of goldsmithing.
My father managed a goldsmith department at Bezalel for 17 years, instilling in me respect for traditional techniques. My mother, originally a ceramic artist transitioned her talents to creating jewelry and approached her work with creativity and intuition — in contrast with my father’s logical, “by the book” views.
I find my art in between these two worlds. I blend classic techniques with unconventional styles, a fusion I call:
Modern Antique
I value handcrafted authentic pieces with unique energy that have a soul and a story to tell. But I also create modern, clean designs with simple, elegant forms. And I leverage the benefits of modern technologies to produce works that resonate with today's world.
My Designs...
...are influenced by nature, different cultures, and my travels.
For example, one of my earlier collections drew inspiration from the works of a Japanese artist.
The way I play with colors and shapes in my latest designs can be traced to other cultural motifs.
I also enjoy using all kinds of unusual patterns that you haven’t seen before, paying a lot of attention to small and delicate details.
I am drawn to stones...
...that reveal their unique stories through their colors, shades, and inner beauty.
I prefer stones that aren't perfectly polished but have a slightly raw finish, highlighting their natural shades and depths, as they look more alive and carry a sense of history. My gemstones are sourced from various locations, including Africa, India, and New Zealand.
I also enjoy working with clients who bring their own stones and create unique designs based on their characteristics. Each stone seems to have its own story, especially when it's an unusual shape.
